1. Introduction
The Cocoa Farmers Association of Africa (COFAAA), operating under the legal and administrative framework of the Cocoa Roundtable Initiative (CORI), is a unifying body dedicated to representing and advancing the interests of cocoa farmers across Africa.
By engaging with COFAAA—whether through membership, event participation, or use of its services—you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before participating in any COFAAA-related activities.
2. Our Mission and Vision
Mission: To advocate for cocoa farmers’ rights, provide capacity-building opportunities, facilitate market access, and promote sustainable practices across the cocoa value chain.
Vision: A prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive cocoa farming sector in Africa that enhances the livelihoods of farmers and promotes environmental stewardship.
3. Scope of Activities
COFAAA operates to:
- Provide training, education, and capacity-building for cocoa farmers.
- Facilitate market linkages and trade opportunities.
- Advocate for policies and regulations that protect and empower cocoa producers.
- Organize events, summits, and conferences that promote sustainability and industry collaboration.
- Encourage environmentally responsible farming practices.
4. Membership Eligibility
Membership in COFAAA is open to:
- Individual cocoa farmers and farmer groups in Africa.
- Cooperatives, associations, and agribusiness entities involved in cocoa production or trade.
- Industry stakeholders, researchers, NGOs, and policy advocates in the cocoa sector.
Applicants must complete the official registration process and agree to comply with COFAAA’s code of conduct.
5. Code of Conduct
All COFAAA members, partners, and participants are expected to:
- Conduct themselves with integrity, respect, and professionalism.
- Comply with all applicable local and international laws.
- Support COFAAA’s mission and objectives.
- Avoid engaging in practices that harm the environment or exploit communities.
COFAAA reserves the right to suspend or terminate participation for violations of this code.
6. Event Participation
- Participation in COFAAA events, training, and conferences may be subject to registration fees or sponsorship agreements.
- Event schedules, speakers, and locations are subject to change without notice.
- COFAAA is not responsible for personal injuries, property loss, or damages incurred during events.
7. Intellectual Property
All materials, publications, and content provided by COFAAA—including logos, training manuals, research papers, and event recordings—remain the intellectual property of COFAAA/CORI unless otherwise stated.
- You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any COFAAA content without prior written consent.
8. Limitation of Liability
COFAAA and CORI will not be liable for:
- Any loss of income, business opportunities, or contracts resulting from participation in COFAAA activities.
- Any damages caused by reliance on information provided through COFAAA programs, publications, or events.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
COFAAA values your privacy and will handle personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws. By joining COFAAA or participating in its activities, you consent to the collection and use of your information for organizational purposes, including communication and program delivery.

11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in Nigerian courts.
